The Australian indie darlings have long established their status as one of their country’s most revered and endearing bands – with seven consecutive Top #10 album debuts in their home country. This year, 2025 saw the band release their 8th studio album in 15 years.
The album Like Love, released in April, delivered the band’s long-awaited and much deserved first No. #1 record. The debut broke a run of four Top 5 debuts including three agonising No. #2’s coming in behind INXS, Bruce Springsteen and Harry Styles respectively.
Across its ten tracks, Like Love stays true to its title and sees the band exploring what it means to truly put your heart on your sleeve. The title track and it’s follow-up single ‘Please Don't Move to Melbourne’, have already become instant fan favourites with their adoring Australian fan base.
Like Love is, ultimately, an album quite unlike anything Ball Park Music have ever done. It's been handled with the utmost care, with a clear vision, and lead singer and principal song-writer Sam Cromack can only hope you can find a piece of yourself within it.
“I gave everything I could to these songs,” he says. “I hope it punches you in the gut. I hope it shares a bottle of wine with you while you're crying at night. I hope this hits the heart harder than ever before.”
The band are currently in the midst of a 35-show run of dates in their home country and New Zealand, including sold-out shows in their hometown of Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. In further good news, Ball Park Music were recently announced as the main support for the Oasis Australian leg of their massive world tour. It’ll see the band perform in front of five sold-out stadium shows in Melbourne and Sydney in October and November, later this year.
To round out what’s been an amazing year for the five-piece outfit from Brisbane, the band heads to Europe in late November - early December for their first international dates north of the equator in ten years. Kicking off in Vienna and culminating in London, the band will play 16 shows visiting Austria, Hungary, Germany, The Netherlands and France along the way. The stellar year for Ball Park will end with a show at the famed Dingwalls in Camden on Saturday 13 December.
